Today's starts the 3rd month of my daily paintings and I'm still loving the daily aspect. The discipline suits my personality perfectly and I'm thrilled with the progress I see in my art. I'm stretching past my comfort zone with some of the subjects I'm tackling and I'm learning so much about color mixing and brush work. The hardest part is deciding what to paint each day, but knowing that I have to paint something gets me going. ![]() I did the weekly Daily Paintworks challenge which was "The Non-Dominant Challenge;" meaning I painted this completely with my left hand. It was a challenge! It seems like getting instructions from my brain to my left hand was like taking a series of detours, and in the end I just had to go with what was happening on the canvas and not over think. That is good practice in any painting, so I'm very glad I did this. 7 x 5 in.

AuthorI'm an fine art artist in Raleigh, North Carolina. I need a paintbrush in my hand to feel complete and I invite you to follow me on my art journey. Everyday brings new ideas and projects... there simply is not enough time... On December 1, 2012, I joined the community of artists who paint a painting each and every day. I haven't been able to keep up with the daily painting, but I'm trying hard to keep my paintbrushes busy. Archives
