![]() It's so good to get back to painting after a few days away, but even with just a little time away, I feel so rusty. Today I'm working with a very limited palette. Alizarin Crimson for my red, Ultramarine for my blue and Cadmium yellow, plus white. I'm also trying to keep an impressionistic style and not overwork the details. The scene is a rocky spit of land surrounded by water. More rocks than land and it's hard to get decent browns out of my palette, but I wanted to focus on the late day light hitting the edges of rock and the side of the tree. 5 x 7

AuthorI'm an fine art artist in Raleigh, North Carolina. I need a paintbrush in my hand to feel complete and I invite you to follow me on my art journey. Everyday brings new ideas and projects... there simply is not enough time... On December 1, 2012, I joined the community of artists who paint a painting each and every day. I haven't been able to keep up with the daily painting, but I'm trying hard to keep my paintbrushes busy. Archives
