![]() "Impressionist art is a style in which the artist captures the image of an object as someone would see it if they just caught a glimpse of it." There is more to this definition, but I thought this captured the essence of the genre. Since my daily paintings are an exercise in stretching and trying to find where I fit in the spectrum of paint styles (not that I have to label myself or fit in one style), this week's challenge is to remember this definition and paint in that style. Today's painting comes from my library of reference pictures, I was immediately attracted to this because of the way the light hit the grass and barn. This is my "impression" of the scene. 5 x 7 inches

AuthorI'm an fine art artist in Raleigh, North Carolina. I need a paintbrush in my hand to feel complete and I invite you to follow me on my art journey. Everyday brings new ideas and projects... there simply is not enough time... On December 1, 2012, I joined the community of artists who paint a painting each and every day. I haven't been able to keep up with the daily painting, but I'm trying hard to keep my paintbrushes busy. Archives
