Occasionally I find myself driving to work just as the sun is coming up. Last week I had one of those days and was rewarded with this beautiful sunrise. 5 x 7 inches.
 This is a 5x 7 study for a 30 x 40 painting. My inspiration was the path around Lake Lynn in Raleigh where I walk. I liked the play of light and shadows on the path which is strewn with leaves and pine needles.
